For many of us, deciding what holiday skincare to pack can be a real challenge. Whether it's a quick weekend getaway or a longer trip, deciding what you really need can be difficult. We have created a mini-guide for you with product recommendations and some helpful tips that will keep your skin healthy and won't give you luggage stress.
Pack small
Some of your skin care can be decanted into smaller containers to save space, but be aware that not all products should be decanted, as often the original packaging ensures the stability and activity of the formula and can reduce the efficacy of the product. If you do decant, only take what you will use for one trip; do not keep it for future trips. You can also check out the travel kits offered by some brands.
Also, be wary of using sample packets and trying new products while away, as your skin can be more sensitive due to changes in temperatures and other environmental factors.
The essentials
Our non-negotiables are cleanser, moisturizer and SPF for the face. The perfect holiday cleanser needs to be gentle, as chances are you will be using it more often, preferably a milky consistency that will also effectively remove SPF and make-up.
Hot climates and traveling cause water to evaporate from the skin's surface, leading to dehydration. Products containing humectants, like hyaluronic acid, will help restore essential moisture without being too heavy on the skin. Pick a light gel or lotion consistency for your moisturizers, or simply use a hydrating serum and follow with your facial SPF. The LE RUB everyday sunscreen is an excellent choice as it contains an array of nourishing antioxidants that will help add more protection from environmental factors to your skin.
Ditch your usual body moisturizer and use an after-sun lotion with ingredients like Aloe Vera that will help cool and repair your skin after a long day in the sun.
A super effective way to instantly make tired eyes look awake and bright is with an eye mask. The MZ SKIN Hydra-Bright Gold Eye Mask has a fantastic brightening and lifting effect and comes in one-use sachets, making it perfect for holiday packing.
Spa on the go
The ultimate travel companion is our Obsidian Gua Stone; flying, alcohol, and a different diet as well as heat can cause puffiness in the face and body. Start the day with a drainage massage on the face and body to stimulate lymphatic flow. It creates a natural lift, more sculpted contours, and gives you a radiant complexion. You won't need foundation afterward - only a lick of mascara, some highlighter, and a plumping lip balm.
