There has been a lot of hype around the device, from celebrity endorsements to the top facialist incorporating it into their treatments on A-List clients, but is it worth the hefty price tag?
The Lyma laser has been described as revolutionary and groundbreaking, a next-level skin care device, and the first clinical-grade laser that has been approved for at-home consumer use by the American FDA. It provides an intense light treatment that promotes skin repair and regeneration at a deeper level than any other device currently on the market.
It is pain-free, has no downtime, no skin heating, and is suitable for all skin types, unlike many other devices on the market.
Lyma boosts ‘total transformation’ in the treatment of blemishes, wrinkles, scars, pigmentation, inflammatory skin conditions, and redness. It's also suitable for use on the body for the treatment of sagging skin and cellulite.
How it works
LYMA has engineered a laser that is a light dispersion model using internal lenses, whereby the intensity and power of the laser beam stay the same but all the heat is removed.
The 500-milliwatt laser of the light penetrates deeply into the skin structures to stimulate collagen production. Unlike LED light masks that have no biological penetrative power and work more superficially on the skin, the Lyma laser can penetrate up to 10cm into the body, working to transform both skin and muscle tissue. The results are cumulative and require regular use.
Lyma founder Lucy Goff explains that "the LYMA laser beam switches off the negative skin cells that produce nitric oxide associated with degeneration and, instead, allows them to counteract and create oxygen again".
How to use
The handheld device looks much like a small torch and comes with a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 10 hours. It can be used on the move easily as well as sitting at home watching your favorite show.
For the best results, use the device on clean skin for 20 minutes daily in the first three months, and then 3-4 times a week to maintain. If you are treating a specific issue, for example, a scar or pigmentation spot, hold the laser stationary over the area for a few minutes.
We recommend using an oil or serum for glide and slip while you use the laser. It's not necessary to use the products that come in the starter pack. We have seen remarkable results using the KYPRIS Facial Elixir or the FURTUNA SKIN Replenishing Balm, depending on your skin type.
At greenlane, we like to use Lyma lasers at the end of facial treatments for an instant calming effect and to give the skin a firmer, bouncier appearance, as well as that incredible glow. It's definitely an investment, but if you commit to really regular use, the results are like nothing else.
